Reflective responses
Reflective mode is designed for deeper review tasks where a quick answer is not enough.
Before you begin
- Use Reflective mode when the task needs critique, risk review, or a stronger final answer.
- Provide the criteria you want EtherAssist to review against.
- Allow more time than a normal quick chat response.
Use Reflective mode

- Open Chat.
- Select Reflective where available.
- Provide the draft, plan, answer, or document to review.
- State the review criteria, such as accuracy, risk, customer readiness, compliance, or operational impact.
- Ask for findings, recommended changes, and a revised output if needed.
- Review the result before acting on it.
Expected result: EtherAssist returns a deeper review with findings and practical improvements.
Good uses
- Reviewing a plan for gaps and weak assumptions.
- Improving policy or procedure wording.
- Comparing implementation options.
- Checking whether a technical answer is complete.
- Preparing audit or customer-ready summaries.
Prompt examples
Ask EtherAssist to review the output against explicit criteria and return findings, risks, and recommended changes.
Example:
Review this Conditional Access rollout plan for operational gaps. Return critical risks, missing dependencies, user impact, testing steps, and a revised implementation sequence.
Tips
- Ask for critical findings first when the review is high risk.
- Ask EtherAssist to separate confirmed issues from assumptions.
- Request a revised version only after the findings look correct.
Known issues
Reflective responses may be longer and more structured. Review them before acting, especially when the result affects production systems, compliance evidence, or customer communication.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
| The page or control is unavailable | Confirm your role, subscription, tenant policy, and whether you need to sign out and back in after a recent change. |
| The result is not what you expected | Recheck the selected organisation, source material, filters, and any date range or model options used for the task. |
| You need audit evidence | Capture the relevant result, export only the required data, and store it according to your organisation's evidence process. |
