Topic and source controls
The Topics & Templates section uses user-facing labels:
- General for broad, non-specialist assistance.
- Topics when EtherAssist should route to a specialist topic or use the topic you explicitly choose.
- Topic sources for approved specialist sources, such as Microsoft Learn or other configured provider documentation.
These options can be constrained by tenant policy.
Memory
Memory is optional and user-controlled. When enabled, EtherAssist can use saved preferences, stable facts, and project context to personalise future responses. Sensitive data and temporary one-off instructions should not be saved as memory.
See Memory.
Recommended setup sequence
- Review Account so you know which email is active.
- Set Appearance and Language & Region preferences.
- Configure Personal Context if you want EtherAssist to understand your role and common work.
- Create Personas for reusable writing or review styles.
- Configure Topics & Templates so specialist routing matches your work.
- Enable Memory only if you want EtherAssist to remember stable preferences.
Tip: Use Administration, not Settings, when the change should apply to other users.
Tips
- Update settings before starting long document or workflow tasks.
- Keep role and language preferences current so generated documents use the right context.
- Ask an administrator if a topic, model, or source option is not available.
